Teams have been seeded and brackets set for this year’s substate basketball tournaments.
The Burlington Wildcats and Lady Wildcats will compete in a Class 3A Substate tournament hosted by Southeast of Saline High School and held at Gypsum. The Lady Wildcats are the No. 7 seed in the girls’ bracket with a 9-10 record and the Wildcats are the No. 2 seed in the boys’ bracket with a 14-5 record. The tournament will begin with quarterfinal games Monday and Tuesday, Feb. 26 and 27. Good luck, Wildcats and Lady Wildcats!
The Lebo Wolves and Lady Wolves and Hartford Jaguars and Lady Jaguars will compete in a Class 1A Division II Substate tournament hosted by Lebo. In the girls’ bracket, the Lady Wolves are the No. 1 seed with an 18-1 record and the Lady Jaguars are the No. 4 seed with an 7-12 record. In the boys’ bracket, the Wolves are the No. 2 seed with a 13-6 record and the Jaguars are the No. 3 seed with a 9-11 record. The Southern Coffey County Titans and Lady Titans and Waverly Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs will compete in a Class 1A Division II Substate tournament hosted by St. Paul. In the girls’ bracket, the Lady Bulldogs are the No. 3 seed with an 6-14 record and the Lady Titans are the No. 5 seed with a 2-15 record. In the boys’ bracket, the Bulldogs are the No. 3 seed with a 6-14 record and the Titans are the No. 6 seed with a 0-18 record.
