BURLINGTON – The 2021 Burlington Invitational basketball tournament, featuring another competitive tournament field, will begin Monday, Jan. 18.

The girls’ bracket features two state-ranked teams, Class 4A No. 8 Labette County and Class 3A No. 6 Sabetha. Other teams in the girls’ bracket include Independence, Ottawa, Paola, Rock Creek, Silver Lake and host team Burlington.

The boys’ bracket features three state-ranked teams, Class 4A No. 5 Ottawa, Class 4A No. 6 Paola and Class 3A No. 8 Rock Creek. Other teams in the boys’ bracket include Independence, Labette County, Sabetha, Silver Lake and host team Burlington.

Quarterfinal games will begin Monday, with Labette County, Ottawa, Rock Creek and Silver Lake playing. Burlington, Independence, Paola and Sabetha will play quarterfinal games Tuesday. Semifinal games will be held Wednesday and Thursday, Jan. 20 and 21.  Fifth- and seventh-place games will be held Friday, Jan. 22. Championship and third-place games will be held Saturday, Jan. 23. Games Monday through Friday will begin at 6 p.m., and games Saturday will begin at 10 a.m.

Due to restrictions put in place by the KSHSAA as a result of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, only two parents/legal guardians per participant family will be admitted to games.
